Hand wash stations are provided as per OSHA 1910.42 rations and are maintained daily.

The grey water from the waste water compartment of the hand wash station is removed.

Washing the outside surface area of the hand wash station with a mild detergent. This includes the faucet, basin, drain areas, counter surface, front and back of the unit. Care must be taken to ensure that algae does not begin to build up in the fresh water compartment, wastewater compartment and supply lines.

After the wastewater compartment has been pumped and the outside surface area cleaned, the unit is inspected for algae or slime. If there is any sign of algae or slime, the fresh water compartment, wastewater compartment and supply lines is washed with a 10% solution of bleach and water.

Fill the fresh water compartment. Refill the paper towels and soap dispensers, as needed. Inspect the pumps and ensure they are in proper working order.

The fresh water compartment, wastewater compartment and supply lines of a handwash station that is on a longterm site will be cleaned every 45 days with a 10% solution of bleach and water.
